Yuvraj Singh reveals ‘T20 Cricket is Giving Domestic Players Rs7-10Cr, Why Would They Play Test’

Third Test - New Zealand v India: Day 3

Yuvraj Singh reveals ‘T20 Cricket is Giving Domestic Players Rs7-10Cr: Is Test Cricket not interesting or biting the dust? The long time discussion has been there for a considerable length of time now.

The developing ubiquity of T20 cricket and the boom of T20 leagues across the globe being the significant explanations for that.

While most former cricketers put their weight solidly behind Test cricket, actually energizing for the longest format of the game, former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has a marginally unique take.

The 2-time World Cup victor said individuals want to play the shortest format of the game more. “Test cricket is dying. People want to watch T20 cricket; people want to play T20 cricket,” Yuvraj said on Sports18’s program Home of Heroes.

The former bold left-hander feels the cash that players make for playing shorter format powers players to re-examine their needs.

“Why would someone play five-day cricket and get five lakh rupees and today play T20 cricket and get 50 lakh? Players who have not made it to international cricket are getting 7-10 crores,” he explained.

At present, most top Test-playing countries have an established T20 league of their own with India driving the way with the world’s most well-known league IPL.

“You watch a T20 game and then watch a 50-over game – it looks like a Test match now. After 20 overs, they are like, ‘There are 30 overs to bat!’,” said Yuvraj. “So, definitely T20 is taking over everything.”
