Nobody questioned Jasprit Bumrah while he couldn't perform- Mohammad Amir on lack of support from Pakistan Management

Former Pakistan speedster Mohammad Amir stunned the cricketer fraternity after announcing an abrupt retirement from international cricket last year.

It was pointed out that he was in a rift with team management and was always sidelined after leaving the Test cricket.

However, he later cleared it that he doesn’t have any differences with management but lacked support from their end.

In the recent turn of events, Amir cited the case of Jasprit Bumrah. And stated how he received backing from management’s end despite dismal show.

Amir stated that Indian management had his back while he touched his low in a series against Australia. Nobody questioned Bumrah’s credibility, and he got all the support from his team as well, reckoned Pakistan pacer.

“I think it is not the right mindset to look at the performance of only four or five matches. If you remember, [Jasprit] Bumrah had only one wicket in 16 matches when he was playing the Australia series, but nobody questioned him because they knew that he is a match-winning bowler. That was the time they [Indian team management] should have supported him, and they did that,” stated Amir as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.

The former bowler also added that the management is given the role to help a player when he is not performing and having a rough patch, and in that case, they should not discard him. The management cannot just sit and relax, assuming all the players are just incredible. He also brushed off talks of him rejoining the Pakistan squad and taking retirement back.

“You are given the job to help the player when he is not performing and not just discard him from the side. If it’s like this, then we should give you an entire team made up of players like Cristiano Ronaldo so that you can sit back and relax and do nothing,” concluded Amir.
