ENG W vs IND W: Shafali Verma becomes first woman cricketer to hit 3 sixes in a Test match

Indian women’s team opener Shafali Verma, who made her debut with twin fifties against England in one of the Test in Bristol.
She broke yet another record as she becomes the first women cricketer to hit three sixes in a Test match.
Shafali broke many records with her fearless knock in the first innings as well.
Verma on Friday became the youngest woman, and the fourth overall, to score twin half-centuries in her debut Test match. Earlier the record was held by Australia’s Jessica Louise Jonassen.
Jessica was 22 when she scored the fifties in both the inning of her debut Test. Sri Lanka’s Vanessa Bowen and England’s Lesley Cooke are the other two batters to have achieved the same milestone.

- 187 (187) – Shikhar Dhawan v Aus in 2013
- 177 (177) – Rohit Sharma v WI in 2013
- 151* (96+63) – Shafali Verma v Eng in 2021

Shafali also became the only third Indian women to score twin fifties in a Test match. Earlier, Sandhya Agarwal and Gargi Banerji had achieved the milestone.

India batter Deepti Sharma scored a magnificent fifty to help India recover after losing in-form Shafali Verma here at Bristol County Ground in the one-off test on Saturday. Deepti who was promoted up the order scored seven boundaries in her innings.
